Petitenget, Bali

One of our favourite places on our most recent trip to Bali was Petitenget bistro. Sean Cosgrove (also has the popular Cornerstore) is behind this stylish new Seminyak venture.

Executive Chef Simon Blaby has created a modern menu with an Italian and French slant. The food was absolutely delicious, so many flavours. Our favourite dishes were:

  •  Carpaccio of hand sliced yellowfin tuna, pearl snapper, watercress, pomelo, dill, tangerine dressing.
  •      Vietnamese duck salad, mint, green chilli, pickled carrot, glass noodles, nuoc cham.
  •       Pan Roast Barramundi Fillet, prawn and chicken laksa broath, bean sprouts, roast chilli jam and fresh lime.
  •       Baguette filled with tiger prawns, cucumber, lemon aioli, romaine lettuce.
  •       Chicken and seafood laksa, egg noodles, bean sprouts, roast chilli jam.
  • Peach and vanilla Frappe.
It's an excellent spot for breakfast too.

Alex Zaboto-Bentley of AZB Creative is responsible for the stylish interior. I love his inspiration for the interiors -  "French bistro on the Cote d’Azure. It’s been shut up for years, full of lovely old crystal vases, 1930s cane, lush, palm print wallpapers, classic marble, hand picked tiles and polished wood floors. The colours have de-saturated, the furniture feels a little worn-in, but its beauty has been preserved. Now re-open that little bistro in chic Seminyak, Bali."

He apparently had the Martinique banana palm wallpaper in the lounge area sourced from the original maker who created it for the original Beverly Hills Hotel. Don’t get me started on the floor tiles, they’re exquisite!
